As you may be aware, BookTok recently lost a wonderful member of our community, and it's been devastating for all those who knew her. Kimmy was kind, funny, and always had a smile despite her inner turmoil. Now, many of us have chosen to come together to help raise funds to cover expenses related to her passing and her family's needs.
On Tuesday, September 10th (tomorrow), we will be participating in an auction to help raise donations for her family's GoFundMe. Authors, vendors, narrators, and influencers are coming together to offer items, which will be up for bid on the Facebook event page.
As for myself, I am donating an audiobook for both Dealings in the Dark and its sequel, Bound and Betrayed. My auction time slot will begin at 11:00 AM EST and will run until the same time on September 11th.
In order to win these items, you will need to be the highest bidder on the post, then send proof of donation to the GoFundMe. That's all that's required.
If you would rather donate to Kimmy's family directly, I've provided the fundraising link below. Every dollar is appreciated. If you can't afford to donate, that's okay. You could simply share this information with your friends, family, and followers. Exposure for this wonderful cause is invaluable.
Regardless of how you choose to participate, thank you for helping Kimmy's family through this hard time. Uplifting each other is the best thing we can do to make a difference in this world. I'm so proud of each and every one of my readers. Together, we can do amazing things.
Remember, you're never alone. This world is better because you are in it, even when your brain tries to convince you otherwise. If you're struggling with suicidal thoughts, please reach out to someone you trust or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
